Why Become A Member
 
Membership in the Aspen Board of REALTORS® puts you in the company of over 700 real estate professionals in the Roaring Fork Valley who are dedicated to professional excellence. It also provides automatic membership in the Colorado Association of REALTORS® (CAR), and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), which is the largest trade association in the world, exceeding 1 million members.

The Aspen Board prides itself on its hospitality. Our office at 23400 Two Rivers Rd Suite #44 in Basalt exists to serve the needs of the membership. Come use a computer terminal to access the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), send an email, or look up directions to your next appointment.

The Aspen Board of REALTORS® offers two types of REALTOR® membership:

Primary Membership

Choose Primary Membership if the Aspen Board is the only Board of REALTORS® you are joining, or if it is the primary Board you will be participating with. This does not stop you from also joining other Boards, but it means you would join them as a Secondary Member.

Requirements for Primary Membership are:
  • Your Broker of Record must belong to the Board you select as your Primary Board.
  • You must have an active Colorado Real Estate License in good standing.
  • You are required to attend the Ethical & Professional Practices of Realtors and the ABOR Orientation within 180 days of joining.

Secondary Membership

Secondary Membership entitles you to full benefits of membership in the Aspen Board of REALTORS®, but allows you to have another Board as your primary Board.

The requirements for Secondary Membership are:

  • You must hold an active Colorado Real Estate License that is in good standing.
  • You must be a current member in good standing of another Colorado Board/Association of REALTORS®.
  • Your broker must also hold primary or secondary membership with the Aspen Board.
